Liesbeth Arnouts

Liesbeth Arnouts is an aerospace enthusiast with a passion for space exploration. Currently working as a System Engineer at HPS GmbH in Munich, she is at the forefront of cutting-edge developments in deployable space structures. With a double degree PhD in Engineering Sciences and a MSc. in Management, Liesbeth likes to integrate technical expertise with strategic insight. Her diverse background includes a stint as a management consultant at McKinsey, and some military training.

Liesbeth’s commitment to her dream of becoming the first female Belgian astronaut led her to reach the finals of the ESA astronaut selections in 2021-2022. Despite not securing an astronaut position, her journey is marked by ambition across scientific and professional domains, acknowledged through awards like the Hangai Prize and the McKinsey Women Achievement Award.

Beyond the realm of aerospace, Liesbeth holds certifications as a skydiver, technical scuba diver, and yoga teacher. Her journey is a dynamic one, embodying determination, and an unyielding pursuit of dreams.
