Taglialatela Scafati Roberta

Technology Manager – Data Engineering, Management & Governance – Accenture

Roberta Taglialatela Scafati (1982), Data & AI Technology Manager at Accenture, channels her background as a female engineer in a male-dominated field into a structural advocacy for workplace inclusion. Her focus lies in creating support networks that allow women to thrive rather than merely survive in the tech industry.

Taglialatela Scafati’s resilience was forged during her academic years in Southern Italy, where she studied Civil Engineering in a cohort that was 90% male. ‘I wasn’t intimidated. I embraced the challenge’n she notes regarding that period. Today, she leverages that experience within Accenture’s Inclusivity Team, where she organizes initiatives ranging from unconscious bias training to health awareness campaigns like Think Pink and Movember.

Her management style is characterized by the concept of ‘Sisterhood’, aiming to build a network of trust among women in leadership. She actively nurtures young talent across gender and cultural lines, managing a team representing over 20 nationalities. Taglialatela Scafati views her role as a bridge between high-level company strategy and employee well-being, striving to be the role model she wished for during her early career: ‘I want to show them that with trust in yourself and your abilities, there is no limit to what you can achieve’.

Roberta believes she’s fortunate to be surrounded by a vast richness in her daily life; ‘I work with a team that represents more than 15 different beliefs. In my mission, I collaborate with colleagues from over 20 nationalities. And when I look at my daughters’ classrooms, I see a beautiful tapestry of cultures. That’s richness for me’, she clearly states. Yet, despite this progress, she knows the path to equity for working women is still long and challenging. That’s why, every single day, she commits to being an example—for her daughters, for her colleagues, and for the next generation.
