Engel Hanna

AI Lead/Technical Trainer – Azelis/Freelancer

Hanna Engel (1993), AI Lead at the BEL-20 listed multinational Azelis, combines a background in corporate tech leadership with a significant footprint in the public speaker circuit. Her profile stands out due to her focus on cutting-edge technologies like quantum computing and her proven ability to deliver financial value through AI.

Engel’s track record at Azelis includes spearheading AI and Cloud initiatives that have generated over €1.2 million in value creation and savings. She established governance within the multinational by launching an AI Change Advisory Board, engaging C-suite stakeholders to ensure alignment with the EU AI Act. Her technical expertise is externally validated by her status as a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) and a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT). Engel operates at the forefront of technological evangelism; she joined the Quantum Circle NGO in 2024 to accelerate the adoption of quantum technologies in Belgium and is a regular keynote speaker at international conferences such as Techorama and CloudBrew.

Her candidacy is driven by a philosophy of ‘democratization’. Engel argues that technology knowledge should not be a privilege, striving to bridge the gap between complex science and practical business application. From her experience as a Microsoft Trainer to her current conference talks on quantum technologies, she has found her passion in making complex subjects understandable, engaging, and inspiring for all audiences. ‘Too often, being ‘technical’ is equated with speaking jargon, prioritizing functionality, and delivering information in a dry, inaccessible way. My ambition is to change this narrative’, Hanna Engel states.

Her ambition is to become a leading European voice in quantum and other emerging technologies, ensuring that the continent’s technological independence is supported by a workforce that understands the ‘so what’ of new tools like Quantum and AI. And it’s clear that she’s also committed to becoming a female role model in ICT and empowering underrepresented groups.
