Bile Nlang Maria Yolanda

Founder – Brise

Maria Yolanda Bile Nlang (1992), Founder of Brise, has positioned herself at the forefront of one of the tech industry’s most critical emerging sectors: AI safety. Leaving behind a stable career in major consulting firms, she established her own venture, Brise, in 2023 to address the ethical risks of artificial intelligence. Brise is an AI consultancy supporting organizations such as ING, ENGIE, and N-Allo in building safer, human-centered conversational AI systems.

Bile Nlang’s entrepreneurial journey is defined by her transition from implementing AI for giants like EY and Cognizant to defining the safety standards that govern them. With Brise, she isn’t merely offering consultancy; she is developing intellectual property in the form of ‘Khai’, an AI safety infrastructure platform designed to automate testing and do monitoring for bias, hallucinations, and security risks. This move from service delivery to product development is a hallmark of her founder mindset, aiming to make AI safety ‘measurable and actionable’ for companies of all sizes.

Her vision extends beyond profit; she aims to position Belgium as a central hub for ethical AI innovation. Bile Nlang combines her technical engineering expertise with a strong advocacy for inclusion, volunteering with organizations such as Women in Tech and She Shapes AI as well as other inclusion-driven initiatives. As a founder, she navigates the complex intersection of rapid technological advancement and necessary regulation.

Maria Yolanda Bile Nlang is raised in Equatorial Guinea and now based in Brussels, bringing a unique perspective to technology through a blend of cultural diversity, resilience, and entrepreneurship. She’s regularly invited to deliver AI training programs and talks on conversational AI, AI ethics, and inclusion in tech.
